In Response To: MLG no longer having Halo at live events (RC Master) : Online Tournament only : Comments? Disappointing but not unexpected. Hopefully Halo 4 will fix this. I like Reach reasonably well enough but I hope that Bungie and 343 take a good hard look at this. Obviously it is not Bungie nor 343's job to cater to MLG, however it is worth noting that when the gameplay mechanics were changed by Bungie and less competitive ideals were introduced the game ceased to be a competition based battlefield. When you make things less competitive and give everyone participation trophies this kind of thing happens. I just really hope that 343 learns from this for H4-6 and Bungie learns from this for whatever their next title is (assuming it has competitive multiplayer.) Again though let me reiterate that bungie and 343 were and are not under ANY obligation to cater to MLG, it is just pleasant however when they give them some special attention.
