I came up with this design just now. I don't expect you to use a lot of the ideas from my design, but I thought I'd throw this out there just to illustrate the point that we all have different views of the Forerunners.

The head came out a little more motorbike-Transformers than I would've liked, but ah well. Also, I have these sketches of Didact I did a while ago, which kind of show similarities to a Sentinel:
