In Response To: Re: Forerunner Visualization *IMG* (TDSpiral) : My vision for the Forerunners has been in line with this: : Super angular and confusing (in a functionality type of way). If you look at
Hannaford's combat skin piece has been my favorite depiction of a Forerunner for a while and it's largely due to the unconventional design; there's no separation between an undersuit and armor plating or even any visible joints, yet it manages to get across this idea of multi-layered armor. The silhouette is also very defined and powerful; a stealth fighter springs to mind. I also like how it keeps the blue lights sparse instead of covering the armor in "Tron Lines", which to me is too common in modern depictions of advanced tech, the Forerunners being no exception. In contrast, the clearly separate undersuit, joints and abundant mechanical detail in your design make it seem a tad... archaic in comparison. It's still very recognizably Forerunner, but it looks as if it could've been built with the level of tech available to the Covenant or even the UNSC. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. If we were to take Hannaford's design as canon (and I'd like to) I might imagine your version as being representative of tech from the older ages, much like the War Sphinx was.
