In Response To: Re: Forerunner Visualization *IMG* (Flynn J Taggart) : Don't fight the Geth urge. I think it shows you're on the right track. Just : deviate it enough to make it your own. Yeah, I imagine the Forerunners would be beyond the need to use transparent visors - you could have various sensors on the helmet and project a perfect holographic image of the environment on the interior. The image might also be processed and enhanced by an on-board computer which would blend in data from different spectrum sensors to make the feed as clear as possible, allowing perfect visibility in darkness, smoke, etc. Going further, you could just beam the feed from the sensors directly into the brain, eliminating the necessity to use the eyes in between. Regarding the Gethy look of the single eye, with tech level as high as the Forerunners, you'd expect them to be able to just coat the helmet in nanoscale cameras and other sensors so that the entire surface of the helmet would act as a sensor. But, since they apparently still use large "eyes" in their Monitors and other constructs, it seems probable their battlesuits would also have similar optics.
