In Response To: Forerunner Visualization *IMG* (Leviathan) Gotta admit, this is the first concept you've published that has left me disappointed. If I had run into it somewhere else, and didn't know that it was, I would have assumed that it was fan-art for Power Rangers or Guyver. Maybe I'm jaded, but it doesn't look alien. It just looks like a guy in a suit. And I know, 'That's what the Forerunner practically are'. Keep in mind that I'm someone who didn't subscribe to the "Forerunners and Humans are related" theory until Cryptum. To me, any design that didn't draw heavily from the Sentinels is bound to miss. For the really heavily armored Forerunner, the question would be "Is there a man in that machine?" For a multitude of reasons, limbs might have been removed*, and replaced with (no doubt superior) repulsorlifts** and manipulators. They don't walk. They hover. They don't aim the gun they're holding; the gun is integrated into the suit, or hovering close by. They don't fight; they have slightly more raw firepower than the average Iowa-class battleship, and they leave a kilometer-wide path of death and destruction behind them as they float from point-A to point-B. That's how I had imagined a Forerunner warrior, anyway. As far as Forerunner civilians go, I guess the Lifeworkers in the H:CEA terminals were pretty good, if lacking in the "Strange glowey modules hovering close by" department. *They can be regrown or replaced with prostheses, you're pretty much screwed anyway if you end up in a situation where you have to punch or climb something, and if the Flood do capture you, you're useless as anything other than raw biomass. **Or whatever the Sentinels hover with.
