In Response To: what is it about the Chief...? (Dervish) : Bungie did exactly that loads of times. The Elites in Halo 2, Halo 3 and : Reach are so differently proportioned that the same skeleton wouldn't have : fit in each of them. A few adjustments to what is ostensibly the same suit : of Master Chief armor are pretty minor by comparison. My question: why do : people get up in arms about any artistic change in the Master Chief, but : don't bat an eye at far more dramatic character design changes? Organic has much more wiggle room for changes of that nature. The Elites and Grunts and such have changed somewhat but not all members of a species are going to be the same. Admittedly the Brutes seemed to have changed too drastically from 2, to 3, to Reach. However, how do you justify a change like 2 large and 8 smaller thrusters on the back of the Autumn to 2 large and 12 smaller. For what is supposed to be the same ship, why redesign from the ground up? Why such a drastic change in the layout of Mombasa island from Halo 2 to ODST?
