In Response To: Re: Why do you? (TDSpiral) : There are some things I don't like about the suit, but I like the helmet, : gauntlets, gloves, kneepads, grieves, under armor, and boots. Now the : things I don't like about the armor would be the torso and upper arm : armor. But I think those things I don't like are easily fixable. Yes, it can be fixed. That's not the problem. The problem is that it looks like this, right now, and whenever I hear something dismissed as not being a problem because it's 'easily fixable', it isn't fixed. : I honestly don't know how to explain why I like the shape of things. Plus,
: Why do you dislike it? Because it's so aesthetically uneven.
The lack of a codpiece and hip armor, along with the massive shoulder-intake-things, makes the Chief look unbalanced and top heavy, like armor was relocated to his shoulders. I did an experiment and obscured the intake-things (I REALLY need a better name for them) with some index cards, and the result actually looked better. More balanced, if still under-armored. The chest... well, I get the feeling that the black section is supposed to be armor, but it still looks like snipers have a straight shot to his heart. The armor, if it's actually there, is poorly communicated, and it would be better to color that section the same shade of brownish-green that the Chief seems to have as a secondary color. As for the wrists and gloves: again, the Chief looks under-armored. I can't really tell for sure from that angle, but it looks like the Chief has lost the armor on the back of his hands, and the wrist armor ends before it has to. It contributes to the whole "Underarmored" feeling. The fact that it might get passed off as 'changes done by nanotech' is nothing short of insulting. When it wasn't brought up until after we saw the Chief emerge from the Cryo-pod, and it wasn't even hinted that the UNSC had that sort of technology, it just screams "A wizard did it!" I mean, nanotechnological armor that modifies itself in Cryo would've been worth a mention in Halsey's journal...
