Regardless of the nature of the explanations used in these Data Drops, which are obviously not to EVERYONE's liking as evidenced above, I think these short and quick little bits of Halo lore are perfect for us hardcore fans. Something most certainly worth saving to our own personal Halo files and Halopedia for future reference.
Looking at it from a developer's perspective, it also allows you to introduce new elements to the story that us fans will love, with minimal efforts from yourself (compared to publishing a book or game). This will allow you to get us information, from an in-universe perspective, within a relatively short timeframe, and much more frequently (if you so choose).
As a fan, I could tell you that I would absolutely delight from a regular/irregular data drop addressing various points within the Halo universe that have not been addressed and that you know might not be addressed anywhere else, or even just quick little bits of fiction that highlight an aspect of the Halo universe that might not be so prevalent in our minds, relevant or irrelevant.
This is my humble request to you. Don't stop these after DD6. Keep them going, please.
(Preferably with some new little tidbits about the Flood's life cycle and how aware of it humanity was after 04.) ^_^
