I'm more amazed by the fact that the people who are calling Bungie out for this stuff (GB right here, but HP, in other places, as well) are more comfortable with ODST, where ostensibly hardcore soldiers (the toughest of the tough, outside of physically augmented supersoldiers like the Spartans) are discussing a love tryst from years ago in the midst of battle. That, more than any redundant military jargon, dragged me RIGHT out of my wartime immersion. This stuff... I can give a pass to. Doesn't bug me at all.
