In Response To: Re: More Adventures in 'Who Writes This Stuff!?' (Wayward Spleen™) : Remember that the primary characters are Spartans. Most of the dialog in the : books comes from other sources - that we have a unit of experienced : soldiers, fighting what they know to be a losing battle (reference Kat), : not saying something meaningful every second, is worthy of the level of : scrutiny you're subjecting it to? I don't think Spartans are magically exempt from good dialogue writing or delivery, no. I think many things could have been said better; Battlestar Galactica (the new one) did this well, Band of Brothers did this well, Aliens did it well (oh, Aliens!)... I'm still working on a more comprehensive dialogue critique. I don't feel I've quite nailed my problems yet, even in my own head.
