As I mentioned in the reply below, this is the kind of critique we do at writing workshops - we look for lines that jump out and whack the player/reader with something that breaks immersion. When my own mod team was finishing work on our first release, we did a big dialogue run through our scripts, looking for problems like this: cheesy lines, clunky lines, weirdly redundant lines. I think Reach needed another one. Attention to detail pays. I wouldn't have enjoyed Black Hawk Down if somebody had gotten on the radio and started calling to "American helicopter Uniform Six-Four!" or what have you. :D
