I'm glad it was cut. While there are many firearms with reciprocating charging handles (AK-series, FN SCAR, Vz58, M14 to name a few) it isn't universal, and is frequently considered an archaic design by a lot of people. I'll be honest, the fix (as Urk says it was a bug) makes the weapon much more appealing from a visual standpoint. Less distracting as well, like was stated. Now, grenades with lights? I get a distinct impression that the size of the light is getting blown out of proportion. The light on the Halo CE grenade wasn't noticeable while it flew, and really only reflected where it had landed, which was moments before it detonated. I don't imagine they're making it glow like much of anything, until it's close enough to shine and be more than a little bouncing ball. If you're gonna argue that there is no reason to give off an indication of a grenade for the sake of resources (how much is a light really gonna detract anyway, in this case?) then you may as well get rid of sniper trailes, muzzle flashes, plasma glow etc. Because it's not necessary for the game to function, and it's giving an indication of where damage is coming from. A little reductio ad abusrudm, sure, but it cuts to the real point. That being, it'll look awesome. Which is why we have all those other things.
