(Louis Wu) : Vector is not a limey - he's fully American. yeah i know that and you know that, but i still get the distinct impression that he's english, one of those gut instincts that can't be justified or explained, i get a lot of those. im gonna tell you something i've never told anyone before, because it is totally irrational, but i've always had the distinct impression that in playing cards, there was some ambiguous similarity or connection between the king and the five, just an odd association but one that seems very obvious to me. Perhaps it is similar in perception to people stricken with a condition known as synesthesia (SP?) A disorder that causes people to form associations between different senses, such as a certain thought or sound evoking the image of a color. for some synesthetics the letter A for example evokes an image of the color brown. the symptoms are somewhat like those experienced during rapid firing of nerves while a person is under the influence of LSD. yes i have done LSD, but i remember forming the association between a king and a five (regardless of the suit of either) when i was much too young to have experimented with drugs. this was a brief glimpse in to the horrible truth that is my life, im gonna go watch Law & Order now, goodbye | |
