I rarely read these forums, so I apologize if I seem like a left-field stranger who doesn't reply to people's replies to him. Here's the thing; I'm concerned about the MAC/PC version of Halo. Yes, I understand that Matt Soell has 'confirmed' its existance, I just read 4 of the times he's said; 'There WILL be a Mac/PC version.' My point is that *he doesn't know.* It's not up to him. All he knows are what the current plans are and, frankly, when these change, he probably won't be the first to know. My experience with these endeavors is that A: the creative people aren't the ones making the decisions. Matt Soell couldn't decide; 'Hey, let's make a Linux version' and know with 100% certainty that it would *have* to get done because he wanted it to. B: when changes come, the creative people, even the directors of the creative people, aren't the first to know. The VP suits are. Hell, sometimes the *marketing* people know before the creative team. Now, of course, this isn't always true, it's a tendancy. I believe that tendancy shrinks with the size of the company, and the creative people *are* the VP suits. I also changes proportionate to the level of commitment the company has to its audience and its previous commitments. So you tell me. . .does Microsoft strike you as being either A: small or B: especially considerate of its customers and its previous promises? | |
