In Response To: MS's contol of Bungie? (Zaknafein) I think this is a combination of stupid rumors and bad information. The bad information comes from the fact that several over-enthusiastic magazines (one of the worst places for good information, next to retailers) have said that Halo is Xbox exclusive. Considering the fact that there have been no official press releases about Xbox exclusivity (quite the opposite, in fact), this is what is known as "BS". As for the rumor bit...how does your friend know the details of the Bungie/Microsoft relationship? Bungie has said they have complete control...unless your friend is a real insider, he's just pulling stuff out of his butt, which is far more likely. Probably just trying to "prove" his point about Halo not being good (I'm just guessing that, though). I personally find it unlikely that a cash cow like Microsoft would NOT port it to Mac. They're planning to bundle Halo with the Xbox, last I heard, so there's no worry about how Halo will sell on Xbox...anyone who buys an Xbox, Halo fan or no, will be getting it. They're likely to make a ton of money porting it to PC, especially if most people are waiting for it there...and Peter Tamte's company, Destineer, has full rights to port/publish ALL Microsoft games to the Mac. There's no reason why Halo wouldn't come to PC/Mac. Just my opinion on the matter. | |
