In Response To: It is the emulation related lag, and controls (3Suns) : As for the Halo 2, strong-arm-everyone-into-buying-a-360 map scandal, I have : already voiced my opinion in this forum, about the ridiculousness of the : whole proposition. I think the only way one can rationalize it so that it : doesn't keep bringing out frustration is to say that Halo 2 support ended : with the Map Pack and a few online updates . What is coming out now is a : retro 360 Promotional package for Halo lovers. Those Halo 2 maps have : nothing to do with Xbox Halo 2, other than gamers will need the original : discs to utilize them. I think that's a good way to rationalize it, actually. On the one hand, most games do not freely give so much expansion material to keep the numbers up. We've already had one Map Pack, and it was free, if you were patient enough to wait (I wasn't). To expect another freebie goes far beyond my expectations. But like many of you, I would like the opportunity to PURCHASE the new maps, but I will not be given that opportunity because I do not have a 360. The only rational explanation I can come up with is that they've run the numbers, and somehow it will cost them MORE money to extend support to original Xbox owners. I don't believe this to be true. What I do believe is that MS thinks that they can push more consoles this way, and actually make more money by restricting the maps. That's too bad for me, because I'm not buying a 360 until Halo 3. And it's too bad because it will effectively end my playing Halo 2 on Live. It will be hard to find a game, methinks. Oh well.
