The only upside that I can see for this is that forcing everyone to jump to the 360 will effectively eliminate modding, although I am not sure about bridging and standbys. The downside for a lot of hardcore players is that the Original Xbox remains the platform of choice for MLG purposes for various reasons (maybe 3Suns can elaborate why this is so?). All I can say is, if they are going to funnel everyone onto the 360, at least give us some tangible news on the 65nm processor. If they (read: Microsoft) hope that they can sell off their inventory of soon-to-be-obsolete 90nm 360's, then personally I believe this will turn their market negative (not that anyone at MS cares about what I think lol). Now considering a dual one-two-punch release of the brand new maps *with* a new 65nm Xbox360, well..Thats not such a bad approach.
