Was Lh'owon incinerated in the nova, or did it freeze after its sun collapsed within Aye Mak Sicur's containment field?

I have no idea what this means. How can Infinity accomodate the notion that the W'rk doesn't exist? Is Ne Cede Malis just a dream that the alternate-player has while on Tycho's ship, using some strange psychic/prescient awareness of Lh'owon and Thoth? Does "hungry chaos" just refer to the superheated ions of the nova itself?
