Hey, Tycho did say on Defend THIS! that Strauss had found a way to delay the onset of the second stage (Anger), so it would make sense if Durandal was still in the first stage (Melancholia) until perhaps after Strauss was out of the way.

Also, is Strauss' fate ever even hinted at? My assumption is that he dies sometime during the first attack on the Marathon, but how? Did he die at the hands of the Pfhor? Or did he perish in what some might call a "tragic accident"? ;)
