In Response To: Forerunner tech (Khaim)

: 3) They have what I think is an inertial drive, i.ei reactionless. You don't
: need anything to push off. Not only that, they have it tiny. This I get
: from the very last scene of the game, after the credits- we see 343GS
: still alive, and MOVING. How can he move? He's in vacuum, so no air to
: use, and Halo is gone, so he can't use anit-grav either.

They could be using a propulsion jet system. You don't need air to push off of to use those. Think... our space probes, the Space Shuttle, etc, are all able to maneuver in the vacuum of space using propulsion jets. The key is in the law that states "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." By pushing energy/jet fuel out of one port, you create an equal pushing force in the opposite direction, pushing you along. No air necessary. :-)
