Yes, I think Halo 2 needs a remake. I believe I spent more time in the Halo 2 campaign then I did in any of the other games.

I remember shortly after finishing Halo 2 for the first time that I felt I was playing a game that didn't feel polished and finished, and it turned out, by Bungie's own admission, that I was right. I never was impressed by the graphics in Halo 2, most everything looked rather muddy and not detailed. In my opinion, if Halo 2 is going to be remade, the original graphics should be tossed out and all new graphics created for the game and not just a new graphic layer over the top of the original like in Halo CE:A. And for heavens sake, DO NOT COMPOSE NEW MUSIC for the remake. I did not like the new music in Halo Anniversary. The Halo 2 music is my favorite.

There are a few things that absolutely should be fixed as well.

Adding a menu that allows a player to choose the skulls the player has already found. There is no reason to force the player to spend hours getting to and activating the skulls over and over again.

Getting the IWHBYD skull was annoying to trigger and finishing the battle with the Elites was tedious just to activate the real IWHBYD skull. Put the actual IWHBYD skull in that little room on top of the roof area and eliminate the Elite battle completely.

Reduce the damage the Beam Rifle does when it is used by the Jackals. It is very annoying to be killed with a single shot to my hand or foot. This happens in Halo 3 as well and it still annoys me.

Fix that annoying superimposed image bug that layers a semi transparent screenshot over your screen.

That's all I can think of at this time.
