"We actually think it's stupid and doesn't have the tonality of what we think the games have presented for the last 5 years, but the guys who pay us think he's good and cheap enough, so what can ya do" I really liked District 9, but I HATED the Landfall shorts. Halo has a very distinct aesthetic. To quote a wise man, you might have never even noticed (but your brain did). Neil just abandoned that aesthetic in favor of something generic with some Halo weapons and enemies thrown in. That's not to say he is a bad filmmaker. He is just a terrible Halo filmmaker.
