It fits perfectly with the overall arc of the narrative and leaves the player with an X-Files/Twin Peaks level of WTF which is something I adore. Mass Effect's would be near the top as well. Shepard's victorious smirk as he climbs out from beneath Sovereign's wreckage is perfect. So regarding Wu's point and Reach, I'd say that our reactions come from this list being about all the endings ever (they said it was definitive, dunno about that... but there it is) and that for many Reach's doesn't stack up as well as others (and the absurdity of Blops being included at all) throughout history. It's probably because we're looking for different things than what Reach provided; I certainly am, though I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. lol I'd certainly put it in a top ten list, but it would be more for it's dramatic use of gameplay and the fact I'd never played something like it before, and how it shows the wisdom of using gameplay to tell the story as much as possible.
