The last 5 hours or so of that game (from Virmire onwards) were : incredible. Alan Wake. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it's narrative. The coupling between end of episode cinematics and intermission music was perfect. But the ending? I'm not sure how I'd best describe it. It's moving, it's creepy, it's stunning, it's heartbreaking... all at the same time. Striking, perhaps? It's the kind of ending that stuck with me for days afterwards. I desperately want a sequel. Alan Wake is everything I like about some of my favorite TV shows, in the form of a game. I really hope American Nightmare is a solid step in that direction. It's not a lake. It's an ocean.
