In Response To: edit (RC Master) Louis Wu: : I'm not sure how you can rationalize making this statement. As far as anyone can tell (and as you suggested), the glitch already existed, and it doesn't rely on the bleed-through change to happen. Unless someone from 343i or Bungie says otherwise, my statement is true. I shouldn't have to rationalize it. : Before bleed-through was implemented, this bug existed, but was pretty close
No one that posts about video game bugs on the Internet, anyway. : Within a week of the implementation of bleed-through in Matchmaking, the bug
Whether it's irrelevant is a matter of opinion. It's been shown it will affect older gametypes with only a little modification. If taking away shields was popular as high speed or random weapons it would've been noticed before. I wouldn't be surprised if this affects campaign too, which could be pretty bad for people playing with black eye on who aren't flawless in their playing. uberfoop:
I didn't think of it that way, but why should melees be the exception, especially when they form one leg of the golden tripod?
: Your list isn't even trying to be reasonable. I mean, you've dropped in
That was more supposed to distinguish from a melee with it, and for most of them I said firing instead of specifying ammo, and it matter for the sword and hammer-- if you run out of battery they do normal melee damage. RC Master:
I don't see how I can either, you just said, "Reach's system is mechanically more clear-cut than bleed-through," which I agreed with, and "It's better in affordance and reliability and all that good stuff," which doesn't seem solid enough or specific enough to even argue with. : Most of the things you've talked about are power weapons (or have the effect
The thing is the returning ones were power weapons before, and they're all still power weapons with damage bleed-through enabled. : The sword (for example) would be useless if it wasn't a one hit kill. Yet it wasn't always a one-hit kill, even on players with next to no shields, in Reach the way it was released. : Because there are more than 8 million people who have bought copies of the
I'm pretty sure all of these changes depend on you going into a certain playlist (and certain playlists in the future) or using a gametype gotten from one of them because we don't all want the same thing. : : No one used these words. : Forget this, I feel I'm being combatative (but you are to!). I've been trying to be non-combative, I took some time to calm down and I toned down a few things in my previous post. I think you saw where you mentioned it. : They created the gametype(s), and they also put it into the TU Beta Playlist
I see the logical step to thinking this would be implemented if anything is, but as I pointed out before, it's a beta playlist for deciding what changes they want to make, and as for why this particular set-up, they had to start somewhere. : Theres no way to turn bleed through off again in those gametypes (AFAIK?) so
There is, just not on our end. At Halofest they said they can not only turn damage bleed-through on and off but adjust how much it's able to happen.
