It may be more clear-cut and headshots while shielded don't seem right but Reach's deplete-shields-then-health system also feels like I'm being cheated sometimes. Possibly the worst thing is that it's not even consistent-- I wasn't even fully pleased when I found out a backsmack and a sniper round to the head completely override it, but I accepted it easily enough, the sword makes sense, explosions kind of make sense, but the freaking shotgun? So you have to take down your opponent's shields first... unless you catch them in a bomb explosion, or you push them off a high place, or you do an assassination move on them, or you melee them in the back, or you have a sniper rifle with any amount of ammo in it, or you have a sword with any charge in it, or you hit them with a charged hammer attack, or you fire a rocket launcher and hit them or anything close enough to them, or you can stick it, or you damage them with a frag grenade, or you can stick them with a round from the plasma launcher, or for that matter if you can damage them with a plasma grenade, or a round from the grenade launcher, or a round from the plasma launcher, or they're near a fusion coil, or a plasma battery, or a landmine, or a propane tank, or a plasma storage unit, and you blow it up, or you fire at them with a fuel rod gun and hit them, or almost hit them, or if you melee them with a flag, or a bomb, or an oddball, or you fire the Banshee's fuel rod cannon and get a hit, or hit something right next to them, or you splatter them, or you have a shotgun with any ammo. Honestly I like the system less now that you've gotten me to think about it. Thank you. No really, thank you, I don't want to be under any illusions, and after all this is HBO, where the unexamined game is not worth playing. : Jees, we're in a thread that is dicussing the fact that bleed-through has a : proper glitch associated with it. If fixing that isn't a simple matter : then bleed-through is even worse here, mechanically, than it was in : previous games. There's a health glitch associated with bleed-through, yes, but it didn't create, cause, enable, or even trigger the glitch. If they can't fix it, then they should re-tune the gametypes, and remove the option for bleed-through (on things not on the list above) if they have to. : But they're not. Or at least aren't coming off that way; they're coming off : as pandering. No clear vision... blah blah - I've said this before. The most positive definition I found for "pander" is "to act as a pander; especially: to provide gratification for others' desires", basically giving people what they want; what's wrong with that? You might mean something else though. Some other definitions I found are: Gratify or indulge (an immoral or distasteful desire, need, or habit or a person with such a desire, etc.) To cater to the lower tastes and desires of others or exploit their weaknesses to act as a pander; cater basely To tempt with, to appeal or cater to (improper motivations etc.); to assist in the gratification of. Those make it sound like you think people who want bleed-through are lower in their standards or tastes than you are, so that couldn't be what you meant, could it? I mean that would be insulting and you're a civilized guy, right?
