Shift A uses : their bed, gets up, does their thing before their shift begins, then at : shift change, Shift B does the same. Might take a page from Trek's book (space permitting) and have doubled up accommodations for enlisted and single occupancy for officers. : Another place to look for reference would be real-life naval ships. Again, : they have the focus of cramming as much as possible into a confined space : to possibly give you some ideas. As well, you might be able to get an idea : as to what all would be needed on the ship, with alterations for it being : in SPAAAAACE of course. It's easy to forget that there's a separation : between officers and enlisted men in every level, including bunks and : galley. I do have some references for the Navy and I do research that for my continuing sci-fi education. : Another place to look is the real-world space program -- it comes in handy to : remember stuff like "Oh, crap, I forgot that crew members have to : BREATHE." It's honestly amazing what all a person can easily overlook : that would be necessary. Then again, this is SF, so there's a lot of : leeway where a person can nudge one way or another.
