: WEG did good work. I'm equally glad that their successors have kept up the
: good work.

: I got into role playing as a creative outlet when I didn't have any
: confidence in any of my story ideas. I found that I loved source books
: more than core books, mostly because they generally held so much more
: detailed world information. I could get more glimpses into how the world
: operated as a whole, which is where the real interest is for me. Stuff
: like economy, production, every day life stuff. To this day, I still buy
: RPG sourcebooks even though I rarely (if ever) play any more.

: Here's a funny little secret: There's quite a few authors who don't role play
: but buy supplement books as quick reference materials. There's a couple of
: companies that put out awful games, but their sourcebooks contain such
: wonderful information in a condensed form designed to let somebody that
: isn't well-versed in a subject understand it that they make a lot of sales
: from people buying them as "primers." They know this fact, but
: they still make more money from it than if they were to make pure
: reference material. (I knew a few of the authors of some of these books
: who let me in on that little tidbit, but I don't have the numbers they
: gave me anymore. Sorry.)

: You and me both! They'd get all of my money in a heartbeat.

: ...Please do this. Please. I'm now looking forward to this SO BAD YOU HAVE NO
: IDEA.

Working out the decks was the easy part...the cut version of the ship exposes lots of decks, but more importantly the deck spacing. The I took the full ship in 3D and made rectangular panels at each deck's floor level. I then took a series of screenshots removing one deck after the other exposing the 'footprint' of that particular level. Probably an easier way to do it, but it worked out so far.

First task is to place the known rooms where they should be: bridge, HEV pods, cryo room, corridors from the sliced section. Second, all the rooms that have exterior evidence: escape pods, missile hatches, maneuvering thrusters, windows, MAC, cargo/personnel hatches, and such. Lastly, make a list of what needs to be in the ship and find logical places for everything to fit. A herculean task, but a fun one.
