TFoR Redo?

Hopefully Dervish, if reading, doesn't mind me sharing his post about TFoR, which I nearly completely agree with.

Many here know my views on the canon, and of the novels, but I can agree with everyone that nobody wants to just THROW OUT stuff.
Why can't 343i take a different route? Not throw out, but fix.

The Fall of Reach was a good tie-in novel when all we had was Halo CE, but it wasn't a particularly good BOOK. Nor was it a compelling story. Like Dervish said, it's a series of set-pieces strung together with timeskips.

How about a re-do?
Two novels.
Halo : Spartans
Halo : Reachfall

Spartans would would go over the origins of the Spartan-II's, up until the emergence of the Covenant. Focus more on individual characters, losing the titles that made Kelly 'Like the Master Chief but Faster' or Linda 'like the chief but better at sniping'
Make them real characters. With their own motives and reasons. People like Jorge, who harbor sympathies for who their fighting but commit to their duty because they don't agree with their methods.
Focus on the factor of the insurrectionists.

Reachfall would be like Reach. Tell the story of the planet, and how it died. Create soldiers, flesh out the Spartans more by placing them in an unwinnable situation.
Do what Bungie tried to do.

Now, for the canon, it wouldn't THROW OUT things, but it would replace and expand. We have had the issue with the number of S-II's in the field since Legends and Cole Protocol, but why not fix that?
Just re-do TFoR and make it mesh more, and by doing that, make it better.
