Re: Not bad.

: No, I really think the line's in need of delivery - it's the old textual
: sarcasm problem. It would clearly be the kind of hate as in 'I hate going
: to work' rather than 'I hate Hitler'; it's a nuisance, an irritating part
: of the job. Who doesn't hate those suicide Grunts? :D

Yeah - just don't "feel" Jun delivering that line brings anything to the table and, even sarcastic, goes against the flow. That you quickly stomped on someone saying something similar is what stood out.

: I don't think having Jun say 'I hate suicide grunts' contradicts his 'I kill
: the enemy, but do not hate them' quote - they're two different kinds of
: hate.

: That...is something I was worried about. But Kat seems able to transmit in,
: even in the original, and I'd assumed it was an ECM device even back then.

: At one point I had a line about how she was having trouble finding clear
: frequencies, but I cut it. Maybe it should've stayed? What would you
: advise?

Well, I'm one of those folks who, while able to see plot holes, etc, still permitted myself to enjoy the story.

If you're going to make due with what you're working with (dedication to keeping the levels/flow largely intact), you should try to effectively communicate around the issues.

Perhaps having Kat talk Jun through a "signal boost" setting on the device or having a relay set at an opportune location during a cutscene handles that?

: If you read through the threads linked up top you can see I've accepted a lot
: of feedback. Off the top of my head there's the Mom thing, Kat's attitude
: in Sword base (and general personality) and the Ackerson issue.

Oh - I've seen you take in feedback which is why it stood out like a sore thumb when you didn't take THAT feedback. It's a line that's out of character. Of course, I also thought that Kat's insubordination *should* have been out of character for a Spartan - even a III, but YMMV

: As long as it's presented reasonably I'm definitely open.
