Though I have been following what people have said regarding Carter. It seems that they don't so much miss him as they miss what he and Kat had. I'm not sure what they really had aside from your typical second in command/first in command dynamic... but hey, that dynamic worked for Kirk and Spock. The difference, of course, was that Kirk and Spock were also both very well fleshed out characters in their own right. Anyway, I could see you filling that void by spinning a Jun/Kat dynamic... with Jun as the second in command. Because seriously, what good is Carter for aside from letting Kat be snippy? I haven't heard much in that respect. Granted, I have heard 343 guys mention that there are fans out there who really love the leatherneckin' Hoo-Rah UNSC stuff. I guess he sort of provides that... but Reach has plenty of that without Carter.
