(ArteenEsben) : I think the issue is that the events of CE certainly matter, but the events : of Reach don't matter at all aside from ensuring CE happens. Reach isn't about accomplishing something grand. It's about trying to survive. It starts out feeling important, when you deliver the Slipspace core to destroy the Assault Carrier, and there's a moment of victory. Immediately after that, though, the rest of the Covenant fleet appears, and you realize that the battle is virtually hopeless, which is when Halsey commandeers Noble Team for her mission, because she knows the importance of Cortana and the location of Halo.
