In Response To: Re: Fanblock (Quirel) Lionheart, you can't just leave it with that! Although, he wasn't really trying to defend the shorts, just to address our reactions to it. I, personally, will lower my expectations of The Package Part 2 dramatically. Sometimes, it's better to be pleasantly surprised than right. I recently watched the Babysitter. THAT lowered my expectations greatly. Got a couple of minutes into Duel and the player reset itself. I couldn't be bothered trying again. The writing in Babysitter was amazingly cliched. I think Spellcheck would have flagged lines like "Tell him yourself!" as super crap. I'll watch The Package 2 because it seems like a step in the right direction (less crappy dialogue - not per line, just total) and I'd like to see some ludicrous fighting inside the Carrier. The rest, I think I'll wait for reviews on here and hunt them down on Youtube if they're worthy :P I judge movies the same way, Bry. I'm no great writer, and I understand that the hard work of concept generation is done for me, but I still judge movies by how I would have done it. Like I Am Legend - amazing concept, fantastic story, all until the Spanish chick gets involved and convinces the super scientist that "God did it." Deux Ex Machina, anyone? OT, but how was O'Brien the "only one who can take the shot"? He lead the prophet by 3 cm and pulled a trigger. He didn't account for wind speeds, the Correolis (sp?) Effect (Which I think would lead UNSC snipers to be close to gods - imagine working with minutely different gravities on every planet? Judging every long shot according to math made straightforward by 9.8m/s^2 while on Earth?) I'm sure this has been hacked to bits by everyone here, but I wanted to get it off my chest.
