He's fun, and most players are going to enjoy his tough-talking no-nonsense character, and his strongly voiced amusing comments which can add so much to the atmosphere. If the Marines hadn't had such a stand-out character as that in H1 - and to some extent also Stacker who's likewise very amusing though obviously not such a key character - things would've been quite a bit blander I think. You warm to him, and you want him on your team. Well, you do until he shoots you in the back of the head with a sniper rifle in AOTCR that is. But hey, we've all got our little faults.
