Where and when would this dialogue between Half-Jaw & Truth take place in the story of Halo 2? The changing of the guard was a direct consequence of Regret's assassination, AFTER the Covenant & In Amber Clad arrives to Delta Halo. What other significant event would have justified dispatching Brutes to a sacred ring? The destruction of the Scarab at New Mombasa by the Demon, causing Regret to bug out from Sol because his fleet was destroyed? No... it took his assassination for the Brutes to replace the Elites' caste responsibilities and bring them to the center light as the Covenant's standard shock troops & honor guards. That's why you start fighting an entrenched Brute force stationed on Delta Halo on the level Uprising (and because of the start of the split within the Covenant started by the Brutes & Truth on High Charity). : As for Johnson and the crew being at Earth before Chief. : Its simple. : Forerunner ships should go faster than Covenant ships. : Especially a Keyship. You see one ship jump away, so perhaps it would be reasonable to surmise that Truth had to first regroup with a force of Brute ships at a rally point after all the Brute vs Elite ship to ship engagements started within Covenant controlled space? : If Covenant Ships = Forerunner ships, than Regret wouldn't have tried to find : that Fleet of Forerunner ships in Halo Wars. : They would just make more ships. Ever thought about how at the time of Covenant & Human's first contact with one another, the Covenant did not have as large a ship production capacity as it has at the time of Halo? Regret's decision to utilize Forerunner ships against Humanity is more of a temporary quick fix until the Covenant's ship building capacity's full potential is reached. : Did I like Johnson? : Yes. : I think he's awesome. : But from my view of the story, I don't think he really does anything worth : having him their besides being funny. : Like I said in my opening post. : If he were gone from Halo 2, the scenes he was in would be replaced with : scenes with Keyes. : Introduce her better. : Make us actually LIKE her, so when she died in 3 we could actually CARE.
