Anyways, it takes place on the same day. (As evidenced by Cortana's transmission about the Chief on his way, and Onyx's activation in Nov.3, following the Array's standby mode) It is possible, though, that it does take place a few hours before the Dreadnought takes off. Anyways, if they made a slispace jump from Delta Halo straight to Earth, they'd make it a day before the Dreadnought arrived. The Chief's still in Sol, but not yet on Earth.
