In Response To: Covenant Loyalist Fleets (Archilen) This is something I wondered, as it says in the cut scene after the credits "One Month Later" That implies that Johnson (and therefore the chief) were gone a month. It seems that some battles must have occurred, but the Covenant probably spent a good deal of their time digging the Ark Portal. If you have read Ghosts of Onyx, you will note that several other Spartans had been fighting on Earth for "Two weeks." They ultimately steal one Covenant ship and destroy another. As for the specifics, though, I can't say.
