Thing is though, doing well financially and being 'respected' aren't exactly the same as being loved. The really hardcore still generally didn't go much beyond satisfied. I heard my share of people saying "The book was still better" or "Your just can't capture it all on film" etc. That aside though, it screams exception that proves the rule. In comparison, how many movies were greatly anticipated and ultimately proved a let down? As far as the source material goes, Halo isn't LotR to the majority of its audience. Most people who play Halo never read the novels, check Bungie.net or HBO or have any idea of its greater story etc. And any movie is going to be made to cater to them, not us. Like I said, different people, different feelings. Its not fair to group everyone as being in the same boat when it comes to wanting a movie or not wanting Halo Wars.
