In Response To: Re: Prophets know that Humans are Forerunners! (Omega) : I always thought he was referring to Regret's failed attempt at eliminating : the human presence on Earth. Regrets purpose on Earth wasn't to eliminate humans - if you remember, the Covenant didnt even expect to find any humans on earth, let alone to find that it was our home world - they were only looking for some clues to where more Halo's are (which is where Regret finds something telling him where Delta Halo is). The fact that Regret even went there was premature as the other Prophets were pissed that he went along without their blessing or permission. Regret leaves earth not because they are losing, but because one he learns where the location of another halo is, he goes right to it without even thinking about the rest of his fleet which is still engaging earth/human resistance and calling for a getting more back up. Remember that the war on and around earth is still raging when MC aboard the Forefunner ship controlled by Truth arrives at earth at the cliffhanger ending.
