No, I reckon the Earth is/has the Ark so that the humans can live out the activation of the Halos safely- from inside/on it -like in the bible where they ride the flood in the ark and survive. But in the bible, there were two of each animal- only two humans, two of each of the covenant? I bet you its the Sergeant who gets to live, he's pretty good at this whole survival thing.
