Its a very interesting possiblity. The exact amount of knowledge that the prophets actually know is still a mystery.
I like your idea of the prophets knowing more than they let on, yet still not knowing the full picture.
it does help farther explain why the covenant have so heavily demonized humanity even when there are a few elites wondering why humans haven't been given the chance to join.
