In Response To: So why not... (Pratch™)

: Take Halo back to its roots as an RTSTF?

: I'd LOVE to see something like Myth or even a blending of Myth and Homeworld
: as Bungie-developed Halo title.

: Hell, even something closer to what Halo was inteded to be originally
: (guerilla warefare on an almost-limitless scale) would be nice and
: swanky...

Hey, sounds great. But how about in some new IP though? I've always wanted to feel like I'm carrying out true guerilla warfare against a much larger enemy. Never happened yet, though. Nothing says that would have to be done in the Haloverse.

In fact, I think that Bungie would get more mileage out of ideas like that if they were done in a new universe instead of relying on brand recognition. Then they could at least be recognized by the rest of the gaming world as more than just "The guys that make Halo". They'd be revered more like Squeenix for creating many different, distinct IP's that are each successful in their own right. I'd hate to see Bungie become a one-trick pony.

Personally, I really wouldn't mind seeing some more fantasy work out of Bungie. How about some fantasy guerilla warfare? Anybody else willing to bite on that? What about a new cyberpunk universe? What about steampunk? How about something REALLY innovative that doesn't even have a label yet?

The industry is inundated with futuristic-warriors-fighting-aliens/demons/etc. It's long been time for something new and fresh and original.
