In Response To: bungie burnout (visibledetritus) Oh, I think they are enjoying themselves. It is of course a simbiotic relationship...without the buyout Halo would not have been the game we know and love and most likely would not have been nearly as popular. Microsoft saved Bungie and Bungie put the Xbox on the map. Being as popular as Halo is put(s) a great deal of pressure on both parties. Microsofts demands may seem harsh but they are running a business and Halo is the flagship product. Sure you can't rush greatness but you can't let opportunities slip by either. Having a 900 pound gorilla breathing down your neck may seem depressing but it does keep a developer focused. Otherwise you're Valve and you spend six years on a sequel. At least Bungie has enough clout that they can push back a bit. All in all I'd say they are in a pretty good place.
