Say, during WWII, Great Britain captured and contained a group of Nazi POW's. We decided to keep them alive for info.

Now, say some other country breaks into the POW camp and sets them free.

Do you want to say that Great Britian is stupid for keeping them alive so they could escape... or do you want to blame the other army that released them?
