Not thumb; proof!

If you've got the video from the Cutscene Library, "Cross Purposes," is the title, look at about 1:00 to 1:03 into the video. You have to expand the video, even the large version to see it, but it's very clear. The view is from behind Cortana, and she uncrosses her arms; you can clearly see that it not a finger crossing a thumb. Just watch it, and near 1:03, you can see the thumb. Now, play that part backwards in slow motion, and watch where the thumb goes. . .not crossed with a finger.
