I had a friend who recently told me : about the Marathon games (I never played them. Shame on me!) and that : Durandal went Rampant toward the end. If I'm not mistaken Durandal was one : of the UNSC(Isn't it?) AI's. Anyway, he told me that he thought that : Cortana would go Rampant in Halo 2, but she didn't. With her constantly : being left inside Ringworld Computers, I think that she probably WILL go : rampant in the third game. (Assuming the Bungie workers still remember : that sort of plot.) Anyway, it'll be interesting to see, even though we'll : probably have to wait another three years to see it. : ~Jinno As a person who grew up with marathon, watching the Halo games develop reminds very much of them. The plot of Halo 2 with the brutes trying to force out the elites very much reminds me of the s'pht rebelling against the pfhor. There were marathon references abound in Halo 2, almost to the point where every other second I was going "there's another one!" Even though bungie says the two universes are different, I'd be willing to bet they are only different because marathon is before the halos were fired and halo is afterwards...but who knows... Also, I think it's not to far off to say the Ark is near new mobassa, which is in Africa, the cradle of the human race...kind of reminds me like 2001 A Space Odyssey. I just beat the campaign so I need some more time to digest the story...kudos to bungie for a great game though
