Well THAT narrows it down...

Let's see... reasons HOLY WARS were committed in human history:

-One group claimed another had occupied its "holy land" for too long.
-The other side had a holy war claiming the first side had taken its own holy land.
(both despite the fact that they shared the same holy land in their religions)

-One group insulted the other group and things got out of hand.
-One group accused innocents of being guilty according to something of their religion which doesn't allow any other religions, then scoured its own land, killing countless innocents.
-One group was wealthy and comparitively small in number. The other was poor, but relatively large in number. Naturally, the latter group declares war on the former group and uses despicable tactics.

Not naming any 'specific' names to each of these, but there have been a LOT of 'holy wars' in real human history. Would you care to tell me for which reason, in particular, the Covenant are intent on wiping out humanity?
