Actually, Bungie DID create all the hype for Halo. The showed it behind closed doors at last years E3 -IN ORDER TO SECURE MAGAZINE EXPOSURE. Then they demoed it at MWNY with little more than a physics and graphics engine. If they had held off on everything till this E3, they would have no expectations to live up to and still a whole lot of exposure and general awareness. Bungie is taking the risks here by publicizing a game that is still being created and new directions taken. I'm sure what Jason Jones imagined in '98 is much different than what we will see as a final product, though it'll probably be just as good.
