I don't think that acknowledging the ambiguity in a work with baked-in ambiguity, by AFAIK the writers' own admission is the same thing as excising it almost entirely from your per-chapter breakdown of a work by saying it didn't actually happen in a way that impacts the "real" events.

I would really like to move on from that one bad argument we had, and I suggest that you do, too.
