: ...I thought about going through and addressing each point, but since you
: blatantly ignored my warning not to nitpick my theory into oblivion

First, you stated you didn't want people to nitpick time travel mechanics. I haven't. Second, I'm not nitpicking. I'm pointing out fundamental flaws in your entire approach. I'm not picking at small issues, I'm pointing out how entire focal points of your idea do not match what takes place in the actual story.

: we're not examining Infinity's plot via the same or even
: similar methods.

You're not examining the plot at all. You are making things up in your own imagination. The two clearest examples are when you claim that Durandal *begs* the main character to escape (which only happened in your imagination) and the main character being reluctant to continue down a certain timeline (which also only happened in your imagination).

: And maybe this is something we'll just have to disagree on, but I don't think
: having any form of guidance somehow completely wrecks the SO's own
: character arc.

See this is your problem, you just make things up in your own imagination and then react to that, instead of to what really happened. I never said that being guided through time shifts "completely wrecks" the main character's arc. That is something *you* personally made up and now are holding *me* accountable for even though I never said it. I said that it undermines the main character's narrative, which something completely different.

So, in terms of you putting words in my mouth and then arguing with me about them...

: Do you think I appreciate that?
